You can judge the usefulness of magic items.

Prerequisite

Appraise 5 ranks, Knowledge (arcana) 5 ranks, Spellcraft 12 ranks

Benefit

When you succeed by 5 or more on a Spellcraft check to determine the school of magic of the aura surrounding a magic item (by casting "detect magic":spells/players-handbook-v35--6/detect-magic--2489/), you can then spend 1 minute concentrating to also learn the properties of the item, as if you had cast "identify":spells/players-handbook-v35--6/identify--2502/. You can use this skill trick once per day.
