These two gold coils wind around the arm from bicep to wrist like serpents. A tiny ruby is set into each end of the coils.

Deathguardian bracers allow you to trade arcane spells for protection from physical harm. When you activate the bracers, choose a prepared arcane spell or uncast spell slot. You lose that spell or spell slot (as if you had cast the spell) and gain damage reduction equal to twice the level of the spell or spell slot sacrificed.
This damage reduction lasts until the start of your next turn and can’t be overcome by any type of weapon.
Deathguardian bracers can be activated as long as you have arcane spells remaining to sacrifice.
